Of course you know you wouldn’t use a paper dog bowl, but did you know that plastic bowls aren’t safe? The surface of a plastic bowl can be chipped or marred. Those crevices provide the ideal breeding ground for creepy crawling bacteria that can make your dog sick. Some cats – are even allergic to plastic and can develop feline acne. Ack!
Stainless steel works and you can even get the rubber rimmed bottoms which are non-slip and good for homes where there might be romping thru an area. Our choice is a heavy ceramic bowl which is unlikely to slip – although it’s breakable, is more likely to make it into the dishwasher every day. Check your local thrift shops for people bowls that can be repurposed into pet food vessels for your four-legged family members.
