Thomas Jefferson Park – Vote for this East Harlem Park To Win Upgrades

Wondering how you can help Tom Jeff this winter during the holiday season? This is what you can do right now to help improve Tom Jeff, right from home, the library, or your phone.

Parks Without Borders is an amazing opportunity to provide resources for the park and the East Harlem community by revamping the entrances and fencing around the park.

Almost 700 people voted for the park for participatory budgeting – and we need your help again! The time is now!  Click on the Parks Without Borders link, scroll down to the map, write “Thomas Jefferson Park” in the search box, and then vote to transform the exterior of the park. Bring the resources Tom Jeff deserves to our park!

VOTE FOR TOM JEFF!

PARKS WITHOUT BORDERS

Let your friends, family, co-workers know to vote for Thomas Jefferson Park and send this link with it: http://www.nycgovparks.org/planning-and-building/planning/parks-without-borders

In additional to individual votes, community groups can write a letter in favor of Thomas Jefferson Park and submit it through the link. Let us know if your community group or organization can add their support for Tom Jeff.

Leadership!

We had a community leadership meeting on Saturday, November 14th and set priorities and goals for next year. We had representation from parents, seniors and services for seniors, more experienced park groups, the Dog Run, the Rec Center, NYCHA, and community gardens. We set priorities to meet three times a year: spring, summer and the end of the fall. We have many exciting projects and events now on the schedule for next year: Let us know if you are interested in getting involved! E-mail [email protected] for notes from the meeting.

The next meeting with be on a Friday evening in December with the Catalyst program. Tom Jeff for Parks Without Bordesr

Thank you everyone for your continued commitment to making Thomas Jefferson Park a better place for the entire El Barrio community!
