City Planners used the precision of a marquetry artist to create a sweet little dog run at 11th Avenue at 22nd Street. The Chesea Waterside Park was inventively designed for exercising your dog by incorporating hills and curving trails on a triangular piece of real estate.
For security, the run is double gated and you’ll want to take extra precaution with your dog in this park which is flanked by the West Side Highway and 11th Avenue.
A kiddie pool helps keep dogs wet and wild. . . but the planners did keep some of the mature trees in place so shaded areas are ample over the benches.
These dogs enjoyed romping, sunning and chasing the ball while we visited with them. If your dog likes to fetch and retrieve this is the perfect spot for clamboring around. Twenty minutes here . . . is probably equal to a 40 minute walk.
Need a quick bite after the park? Try the Half King-dogs are welcome on the patio at 505 W. 23rd Street, NYC.
